Read random blogs and substack authors voraciously. Bonus points if they’re about something you intend to do or experience irl, e.g. writing, reading, quilting, camper renovation, vacation. (Pinterest and Google are terrific tools.)
Read snippets standing up, in uncomfortable positions, when you really should be working— therefore experiencing reading guilt rather than pleasure
Read the poorly written stories following online news articles that pique the interest and go on and on by pushing NEXT, only to end with an anticlimactic finish
Read self-help that doesn’t help, rather than the classics
Read book reviews on Goodreads and with great delight order previously loved books from abebooks so as to have a healthy TBR stack
Start reading multiple books, but don’t finish. Google the author midway to become aware of any negatives that may cause abandonment of the book
Avoid bookish chats and writing groups; they may stifle these obnoxious habits

You missed one! 8. Spend time looking up which books to check out next.
Ha! 😆 Oh if only it weren't true
