Moss. Brilliant green, sleek and shiny, or the spriggy kind.
Mountains. Monumental or medium size, shrouded in smoke.
Sunlight. Shafts, strong and piercing, or dappled and diminutive.
Fire. Flames flickering, fleeting but mesmerizing.
Wind. Invisible, but causing leaves to flutter and grasses bend.
Water. Waves lapping and streams that gurgle and go on and on.
Scents. Honeysuckle + privet permeating spring, woodsmoke in autumn. Briny saltwater at the beach, pine and cedar in the winter wood, and wet earth after the rain.
Rainbows and prisms. The spectrum of colour when you least expect it.
Birdsong. A beautiful melody together. Hearing our bird. (It’s a Carolina Chickadee with a unique trill that we first noticed on a springtime camping excursion…)
